PASTOR
KENT D. WILSON

Name: Kent D. Wilson
Wife: Dorinda L. Wilson
Parents: Herbert E. and Mavis M. Wilson

I knew I was called to preach at the age of 12. I tried to live my life at all
times to honor the Lord. Failures? Yes, I've had a few but God is so gracious!
I went to Free Gospel Bible Institute in Export, PA. and graduated in 1983, sal-
utatorian of my class.
I finished my secular degree at Southern Illinois University
Edwardsville in 1986 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration
Management. I met my wife in 1987 and got married in 1988. Our first child
was born in 1989, our second in 1991, our third in 1992 (who died at birth
due to birth defect). I assisted my father when he pastored in Granite City at
Mitchell Assembly of God from 1985 to 1990. I became the youth pastor at
Crossroads Assembly of God under Rev. Doyle Ankrom. In 1993, we started
attending Troy Assembly of God under the pastorate of Rev. Paul Morgan. I
was an assistant to Rev. Morgan, helped him out whenever I could. I was
considered his Associate Pastor. Feeling a tug at our hearts to help a small
church in Collinsville, we left Troy Assembly in 2000 and started attending
State Park Assembly of God under Ronald Mattea. In 2002, we were invited
to try out at Cathederal-Of-Praise ( now known as Crossview Independent
Assembly of God International) in O'Fallon, Il. and became pastor for the first
time on Easter Sunday, March 31,2002.

My goal in life is to make sure my family makes heaven thier home; because
what good am I if I win the whole world to Jesus Christ, but lose my own
family?

God help me to be a" crossed -eyed" christian at all times!

Favorite Book (besides the Bible ):
This Present Darkness
Favorite Movie: "Passion of the Christ" (and "One Night with the King" )
Favorite Food: Pasta (is there anything else?)
Favorite Verse: I like quite a few, but it really seems to focus on John 10
( Jesus is the Good Shepard ) where Jesus said, "The devil came to steal, kill
and destroy us, but that He came to give us "abundant life": and I John 3:1-3.
